EKHO

“EKHO” is an performance that combines the physical intensity
of theatre with the expressive power of dance to explore
absurdity and nonsense. It examines the subtleties of
communication, challenging the traditional distinctions
between sense and nonsense, logic and absurdity.

In “EKHO,” the human body is the main vehicle for expression,
where movement transcends conventional storytelling to
embrace chaos and the nonsensical. The performance explores
how absurdity can alter everyday expectations and inspire
profound thoughts about understanding and meaning.

“EKHO” engages with absurdity not merely as a stage element
but as a critical viewpoint for examining the world. It
combines nonsensical elements with absurd scenarios, urging
the audience to question the arbitrary distinctions we make
in daily life. This inquiry is intensified by the blobbing
method’s focus on fluid boundaries and the pursuit of new
understandings through illogic.

The reception of “EKHO” underscores its effectiveness in
prompting audiences to accept the unexpected and find comfort
in discomfort. The blending of absurdity with physical
expressivity offers a novel outlook on the transformative
potential of the performance field. Performed at International Performance
Festival Mainz; and Sophiensaele, Panke Berlin; Amsterdam Fringe Festival, Volkshotel Amsterdam.
