Heavy Composition in White
Created with performance
art collective 77 Stolen Fish

In the liminal space of “Heavy
Composition in White,” the collective
77 Stolen Fish presents a visceral
inquiry into the essence of rules and
their impact on the somatic experience.
This performance—devised and enacted by
an ensemble featuring Andrea Krohn,
Marielle Kleyn Winkel, Sebastian
Collado, Katharina Schwärzer, Julia
Metzger-Traber, and Valeria Germain—
transcends conventional theatre to
challenge the constraints and freedoms
born from structure.
The performance navigates the dichotomy
of regulations as both a confinement
and a comforting embrace, propelling a
journey through the realms of “shoulds”
and “musts” to a revelation of
collective play. It’s an introspective
game that unfolds through layers—
between performers, with the audience,
and within the act of performance
itself.
Without pretense of acting, the artists
engage in a candid attempt to play the
game to its conclusion, prompting
audiences to question: Will we endure?
Will the methods we’ve made sustain us?
